We live on Salt Spring Island were there is a variety of trees such as maple, arbutus, fir and cedar. We usually make our cutting boards out of maple and arbutus. We dried our maple for 5 years before beginning to make our cutting boards. Not only are our cutting boards from great quality wood they have a beautiful wood mark in the shape of salt spring island.
